Mr. Ramirez- Avalos P-TECH Math Teacher
Mr. Ramirez began high school taking 3 Pre-AP classes, gradually adding more, and during his Junior and Senior Year his classes consisted of AP and Dual Credit courses. He worked up to being Top 10% of his graduating class of 700 students which earned him a scholarship to the University of Houston where half of his tuition was paid for four years! He began his college studies in Computer Science but after working on campus as a tutor for Math and Physics he decided to change his major to Math. He took a chance and tried the TEACHHouston grant program to see if he would be able to teach non-college students, and he was! He finished his program and earned a teachers certificate and is now teaching math at Rose M. Avalos P-TECH.
