AACHA
Our mission is to advocate for the needs of students at Avalos (inclusivity), promote higher education (purpose), serve the Aldine communicy (integrity), while empowering, celebrating, discussing, and exploring diversity, culture, and the African-American experience at Avalos P-TECH and the world at large.
Academic Decathlon
The Avalos P-TECH Academic Decathlon’s mission is to provide students with a well-rounded educational experience outside of the classroom, teaching students how to be competitive in a professional setting and encouraging them to take ownership of their learning.
Aldine Avalos Votes
Aldine Avalos Votes is a student advocacy group focused on empowering students to make a lasting difference in their community. We strive to inspire action through meaningful advocacy, ensuring that the voice and impact of today’s students shapes a better tomorrow. Our purpose is to make the “you of tomorrow” matter.
Art Club
The Art Club is where creativity thrives and imagination is brought to life. Our purpose is to provide a dedicated space for students to explore their artistic talents and express themselves fully, turning their creative visions into reality. We are the place “where dreams come true through art.”
Bible Study
The Bible Study Club offers students a welcoming environment to deepen their faith and understanding of scripture. Our purpose is to help members “Connect, Reflect, and Grow” through shared readings, thoughtful discussion, and fellowship.
Booster Club
The Booster Club is dedicated to elevating the senior experience and maximizing memorable moments. We support initiatives and events designed to “Take your senior year to the next level,” ensuring it is the best and most impactful year yet.
Business Professionals of America (BPA)
Our mission at Business Professionals of America Avalos is to develop inclusive and empowered student leaders to discover their purpose and change the world by collaborating in service to our school and community.
Cheer
The Cheer group is a fun and spirited club where students come together to learn exciting dance routines and build school pride. Our purpose is to create an energetic atmosphere by practicing cheers and performing with or for our friends at various events.
Chess Club
The Chess Club is the perfect place to hone your strategic thinking and develop your skills, whether you’re a seasoned player or completely new to the game. Based on the motto, “Every master was once a beginner,” our purpose is to provide consistent practice, friendly competition, and a supportive environment for every member to grow.
Chick-fil-A Leadership Academy
We are proud to offer the Chick-fil-A Leadership Academy on campus, a club established because its core values mirror those of Avalos P-TECH. This is a powerful opportunity for our freshmen students to acquire the vital skills necessary for the workforce and for becoming impactful community leaders.
Crochet Club
The Crochet Club offers a relaxing and constructive way to unwind while learning a valuable craft. Our purpose is to help students reduce stress and anxiety while enhancing their focus and hand-eye coordination through the meditative practice of crocheting.
Mock Trials
The Mock Trials club is designed to immerse students in the world of law and litigation. Our purpose is to teach the legal strategy, persuasive speaking, and critical analysis skills necessary to succeed in a courtroom. We focus on preparing members not just to argue a case but to dominate the courtroom through compelling arguments and masterful presentation.
Model UN
The Model UN club is an immersive organization where students experience international relations firsthand. Our purpose is to have members step into the role of world leaders, debate global issues, and work together to create real solutions for the world’s most complex problems, fostering diplomacy, research, and public speaking skills.
National Honor Society (NHS)
The National Honor Society is one of the oldest, largest, and most widely recognized cocurricular student organizations in American high schools. In short, the NHS is a prestigious honor society that emphasizes the development of the whole student, recognizing both academic excellence and ethical behavior, service, and leadership potential.
National Technical Honor Society (NTHS)
The National Technical Honor Society is an international honor society specifically for outstanding students enrolled in Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs, which include vocational, occupational, and technical fields. In essence, NTHS serves to champion a stronger, more positive image for career and technical education and helps connect top-skilled students with future career and educational opportunities.
Running Club
The Running Club is a supportive and inclusive group dedicated to promoting fitness and camaraderie through movement. Our core purpose is reflected in our motto: “All paces are welcomed; no one runs alone.” We offer a friendly environment for students to run together, set personal goals, and build enduring friendships, regardless of their current ability level.
Science National Honor Society (SNHS)
The Science National Honor Society recognizes students who have demonstrated excellence and passion for science and STEM fields. Our purpose is to encourage intellectual curiosity, promote community service, and advance scientific knowledge. Join us to engage in science-related projects, network with peers, and prepare for success in college and future STEM careers.
SkillsUSA
SkillsUSA is the premier student organization for those serious about their technical and career education. We partner students, teachers, and industry to develop the essential personal, workplace, and technical skills demanded by employers. Join us to refine your trade and leadership abilities, compete in local and national SkillsUSA Championships (the “Olympics of skilled trades”), and prepare to become a world-class worker and leader in your chosen career field!
Soccer Club
The Soccer Club welcomes students passionate about the world’s most popular sport! Whether you’re a seasoned player or new to the game, our purpose is to provide a fun, supportive environment for practicing skills, improving fitness, and enjoying friendly matches. Join us to build teamwork, hone your technique, and share your love for soccer!
Speech and Debate
The Speech and Debate Club is dedicated to empowering students to become eloquent communicators, critical thinkers, and engaged citizens. Our mission is to provide a dynamic platform for fostering effective public speaking skills, nurturing analytical reasoning, and cultivating a passion for thoughtful discourse. We are committed to creating an inclusive and supportive community that encourages personal growth, intellectual exploration, and a lifelong appreciation for the art of persuasion.
Texas Associate of Future Educators (TAFE)
Our mission for TAFE is collaboration, which will result in performance by attending local, regional, and state competitions that will enhance leadership skills and networking opportunities for future teachers. All students at Avalos P-Tech will be included in the positive events and interaction with TAFE members.
