School starts at 7:00AM.  Learning starts at 7:00AM.

Our official ADA time is 9:30 AM, please make sure students are present at school before this time.

ATTENDANCE, ABSENCES AND TARDINESS

Students must be present for 90% of the time in order to receive credit or a final grade. The 90% rule applies to all absences, including excused absences.

 

TARDINESS – TO BE EARLY IS TO BE ON TIME

 

A student is tardy after the start of each class period (when the bell rings).

Students who are late to class, will not be allowed to enter, and must report to the main office to receive a tardy pass.

Students must present a tardy pass to the teacher and are responsible for making up any work missed.

Chronic tardiness will result in a parent/student conference and/or further disciplinary action.

 

WHAT TO DO IN CASE OF AN ABSENCE

Students who have been absent or tardy must present a written excuse from the parents or guardian when they return to school. Excuses for absences and tardies are the following:

  • personal illness
  • sickness or death in the family
  • quarantine
  • weather or road conditions making travel dangerous
  • participation in school activities with permission of the principal
  • juvenile court proceeding, as documented by a probation officer
  • approved college visitation
  • emergencies
  • religious Holy day
  • or “any other cause acceptable to teacher, principal, or superintendent”

 

When you return:

  • A written excuse for the absences or tardies should be turned in to the campus no later than three school days after the first day back on campus. Absences are Unexcused unless a note is turned in by the third day. 
  • This note should include the student’s full name, date(s) of absence, parent signature, reason for absence, and a telephone number for the parent or guardian for verification. Any student found to be misrepresenting the validity of an excuse or permit shall be subject to disciplinary action.
  • Turn in the note to the attendance clerk in the front office, either before school or after school, WITHIN 3 DAYS of your return from being absent.
  • If you return to school after being absent and do not bring a note from home within the specified time frame, your absence(s) will be marked as Unexcused.
